Bumper turnout for LILAC Learning day in Leeds

Over 70 people from co-housing groups, local authorities and architecture practices converged on the University of Leeds on Thursday 10th May to hear LILAC tell their story. The packed lecture theatre full of people keen to hear how the group had gone from pub idea to building their new community in less that 5 years.

Members of the design team and funding bodies relayed how LILAC had accessed their support to buy, design and now build their ground breaking project. Hurdles that were overcome and the highs and lows of the process were relayed throughout the day.

The final design produced by White Design Associates using the innovative ModCell® system is currently on site at Victoria Park Avenue, Bramley in Leeds. Where the foundations are complete and the innovative timber and straw system is currently being fabricated.
